Needy military families serving at Tinker Air Force Base will get a boost from Rose State College and Tinker Federal Credit Union. Scholarship recipients at Rose State will place collection boxes at metro-area banks, businesses and other institutions for toys and non-perishable food items, drive spokesperson Crystal Landowski, said.
Landowski said the families of enlisted personnel often face hardship over the holidays, whether from a recent move, pending deployment or from being far away from home. She said assistance is important and appreciated during the Christmas season.
"A lot of those families really need a miracle right now," Landowski said. "We are looking for new, unwrapped, non-violent toys for the children, and non-perishable items."
Collection boxes will be placed at Rose State College, and as well at the following locations in the metro area:
> BancFirst, 7701 S. Sooner Road, Midwest City
