Lojka spent 29 years at the Midwest City Fire Department and served in several roles, including firefighter, inspector, investigator, public education officer, public information officer and fire marshal.
His favorite job was that of department spokesman as he answered questions from the press, and conveyed important fire prevention tips to the public.

Group sends off Oklahoma Honor Flights travelers at Rose State
The Oklahoma Honor Flights program will host a send off ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Rose State Communications Center, 7005 SE 15th St. The event will honor the second trip to Washington, D.C., on Tuesday.
Oklahoma Honor Flights takes World War II veterans to Washington, D.C., to see the World War II memorial in a one-day trip.
Del City attorney Steve Coleman and Rep. Gary Banz (above, R-Midwest City) spearhead the efforts to take Oklahoma's veterans to the nation's capital. About 102 veterans and their guardians are expected to make the trip. On the first trip in May, 99 veterans and guardians made the one-day journey. The trip will begin Tuesday morning around 4 a.m.
The ceremony is open and free to the public. It will feature performances by local students.
